Welcome to the FPAC-Gilbert
VOLUNTEER info page!
We are so glad you are here!
Did
you know that when parents get involved in their child's school,
their child does better in school? Research shows that children whose parents are involved get better grades, do better on
tests, and have fewer discipline problems at school.
At
FPAC-Gilbert we want you to get involved. To make it easier for you
we have outlined the steps you can take - its as easy as 1-2-3!
1. This is a step that we ask EVERY PARENT to complete as a minimum amount of service to your school. Its easy and includes:-
- Pay annual dues of $20/family
- Sign-up and read FPAC-Gilbert e-mails & newsletter
- Support FPAC-Gilbert's main fundraiser - Fall Festival which is held in the Fall by donating an item to your child's class' Silent Auction basket and donating 30 minutes of your time volunteering at various stations/booths such as:
- Games Book Fair
- Silent Auction Concessions
- Set-up/Clean-up Parking
- Ticket Sales Cupcake walk
2. Participate in one of the many short-term, one-time-only opportunities to volunteer, such as:
- Health Screenings - August
- Ice Cream Social - August
- Poetry Recitation Contest - September
- 100th Day of School - January
- Box Tops for Education - Fall-Spring
- Field Day - Spring
- Family Fun Night - Fall and Spring
3. Help out with on-going volunteer opportunities, such as:
- Teacher Appreciation: Throughout the year - eg. monthly treats, lunches served during Parent conference weeks, Teacher Appreciation Week surprises etc.
- Art/Music Masterpiece: monthly, ran 8 weeks at a time.
- Yearbook: Take photos around campus and send them to the yearbook coordinator.
Please consider getting involved. The work we do covers a broad spectrum and there are jobs to cover all sorts of skill levels, interests, and time constraints.
Getting involved is as easy as:
- signing up during summer registration
- responding to one of the e-mail requests
- send an e-mail to the committee chairperson
