1^st ever SPELL-A-THON!!!

Our BIG fundraiser of the year!

Our Spell-A-Thon is a fun and educational activity for Kindergarteners – 6^th graders, with all students striving for their personal best!

Upon completion of the Spell-A-Thon spelling test, every student will receive a certificate of participation, indicating the correct number of words achieved, regardless of participation with sponsorships.

Our goal is to raise at least $10,000 this year to help provide teacher support and the various FUN activities for the students, their families and our community.

Please participate as much as you can and give what works for your family.  The more we raise, the more successful we’ll be at achieving our goal.

Pledge sheet, prize sheet, and word lists are all below.

RULES

1.  Word lists are included in the packet and are also available below.  Please assist your child with practicing their words throughout the next 2-3 weeks to ensure that they reach their own personal best. Word lists consist of 30 age/grade appropriate words.

2.  Spell-A-Thon spelling tests will be given the week of October 21-25, 2019.  Students will test during the teacher’s chosen time.

3.  Upon completion of the Spell-A-Thon, students will hand in their tests to their teacher to be graded.  Each student will then receive a certificate of participation indicating the correct number of words achieved.

4.  Prizes will be awarded to individual students based on money collected and turned in.  Please refer to the prize sheet to see the prizes available.

5.  The class with the most money collected will earn a pizza party!!!  Help your child’s class earn this fun event!

6.  Students may start obtaining sponsors and collecting pledges/donations immediately.  Please be sure to fill in all the information at the top of the donation form, including the parent name and contact information.

7.  Students may collect the flat donations in advance but must keep the money until all pledges and donations are collected.

8.  Pledge sheets and money are due to the office Friday, November 1, 2019.

9.  Donations are tax deductible!!!  Donations can be made with cash or check.

10.  Pledges may be made by anyone.  However, students may not ask for pledges from any of the staff members at Benjamin Franklin Charter School.

11.  We encourage students to ask only people they know well, such as family members and friends.

12.  Prizes will be dispersed at the school.

13.  If your child earns the Pizza Picnic with Mrs. Dana and/or the Water Balloon Party, you will receive a notice when these are scheduled. The class that earns the pizza party- the date will be arranged with the teacher and notification will be sent home to those parents.

It's Fall Y'all

FPAC wishes all you Jaguar families a fun and safe Fall break.

Change in the school's Amazon Smile name

Hey hey hey Jaguar families!!!

There has been a change to our 501(c)3 number, so we've had to change our Amazon Smile account.  Unfortunately, we couldn't just change the number in their system, so we have had to make a new Amazon Smile account with a new name.

Please go into your Amazon Smile account and change the name to

Yes... part of the name is currently cut off... but we are working with Amazon Smile to change our name into something a little easier!  Please make sure to change the charity as soon as possible, as the other account no longer can receive funds.

To change your charity of choice, log into your Amazon account at smile.amazon.com.  Under the Amazon search bar, you will see "Supporting" in gold and the name of the charity.  To the immediate right there is a drop down arrow, click that.  A secondary box will appear, click "change" after the name of the charity.  Just copy and paste the above charity name and VIOLA!  The charity will be changed to the updated BFCS FPAC-Gilbert!

And remember... you MUST be in smile.amazon.com for Amazon to donate any proceeds to us... but don't worry- if you start in the regular Amazon site, you can switch over to the Smile site before your purchase... whatever is in your cart or on your lists can be accessed through the Smile site!  You can even bookmark the Smile site on your computer or smartphone so that you automatically go to the Smile site... 

And for those of you who don't know... Amazon donates to the school!  You can use the same instructions above to enter in the school to receive donations from Amazon!

There's a sweepstakes out that gives us a chance to 

DOUBLE our Fall submission of Box Tops!

The sweepstakes runs from 8/30/19 - 9/30/19.

To enter the sweepstakes, all you have to do is scan a receipt containing at least one eligible Box Tops product within 14 days of purchase by 9/30/19 at 11:59pm CST.

Mother/Son Dodgeball Tournament

Here it is!  It's time for our Mother/Son Dodgeball Tournament!  

DODGEBALL!!!

So all the mothers, mother-figures and men who wear the mother-badge with pride, bring your boy Jaguar (or perhaps even a girl Jaguar who might want to play) and come socialize for a bit!

Wear your comfy clothes and sneakers (no tank tops or short shorts), sport your favorite sports team, bring your game face and come have some fun and enjoy some root beer floats!!!

Sign up to donate root beer, orange soda, or ice cream for root beer floats... or come and help serve the root beer floats! We can definitely use your help! If you have a teen who would like to earn service hours, we would love to sign their sheet for a job well done!

It's time for our Daddy/Daughter Dance!

THEME- Wear your favorite CARTOON t-shirt and jeans (dress code still applies) or dress up for date night with your favorite Jaguar!
