Our BIG fundraiser of the year!
Our Spell-A-Thon is a fun and educational activity for Kindergarteners – 6th graders, with all students striving for their personal best!
Upon completion of the Spell-A-Thon spelling test, every student will receive a certificate of participation, indicating the correct number of words achieved, regardless of participation with sponsorships.
Our goal is to raise at least $10,000 this year to help provide teacher support and the various FUN activities for the students, their families and our community.
Please participate as much as you can and give what works for your family. The more we raise, the more successful we’ll be at achieving our goal.

RULES
1. Word lists are included in the packet and are also available below. Please assist your child with practicing their words throughout the next 2-3 weeks to ensure that they reach their own personal best. Word lists consist of 30 age/grade appropriate words.
2. Spell-A-Thon spelling tests will be given the week of October 21-25, 2019. Students will test during the teacher’s chosen time.
3. Upon completion of the Spell-A-Thon, students will hand in their tests to their teacher to be graded. Each student will then receive a certificate of participation indicating the correct number of words achieved.
4. Prizes will be awarded to individual students based on money collected and turned in. Please refer to the prize sheet to see the prizes available.
5. The class with the most money collected will earn a pizza party!!! Help your child’s class earn this fun event!
6. Students may start obtaining sponsors and collecting pledges/donations immediately. Please be sure to fill in all the information at the top of the donation form, including the parent name and contact information.
7. Students may collect the flat donations in advance but must keep the money until all pledges and donations are collected.
8. Pledge sheets and money are due to the office Friday, November 1, 2019.
9. Donations are tax deductible!!! Donations can be made with cash or check.
10. Pledges may be made by anyone. However, students may not ask for pledges from any of the staff members at Benjamin Franklin Charter School.
11. We encourage students to ask only people they know well, such as family members and friends.
12. Prizes will be dispersed at the school.
13. If your child earns the Pizza Picnic with Mrs. Dana and/or the Water Balloon Party, you will receive a notice when these are scheduled. The class that earns the pizza party- the date will be arranged with the teacher and notification will be sent home to those parents.
