Feed My Starving Children Service Opportunity

We know your type... awesome human, amazing role model- yeah... you know we're talking about you!  We know you lead by example and you have a heart of service... and we also know that serving is fun with family and friends.

Well, we've got just the opportunity for you and your Jaguar!

FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN!!!

Once again, BFCS- Gilbert will be going to the Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) facility in Mesa (1345 S Alma School, Mesa) and pack nutritious meals for those who may go without... meals that are specially formulated for malnourished children.  Standing side-by-side, adults and children can impact hundreds of lives by packing these life-saving meals.

We've booked two Mondays in April 2018 for the school to go and volunteer.  Choose one or both nights and join us!  By clicking the links below you can go sign up for a 2-hour shift.  YOU MUST BE SIGNED UP TO HELP.  Space is limited so please make sure you sign up everyone in your group.

Now... there are some things you will need to know...
  • Sorry... children under the age of 5 are not allowed in the packing area- no exceptions.
  • No jewelry in the packing area.
  • Please click on the link below to see all of FMSC volunteer policies.
BFCS- Gilbert has always shown the community the amazing leadership ability our Jaguars have- service is no exception!  We look forward to serving with you this April!

Color Run Registration

It is time... to register for
COLOR RUN!!!

Color Run this year is Friday, April 6, 2018.  Bring a picnic dinner at 5pm and the Run starts at 6pm with an Alumni Run!!!  We're honoring our graduated Jaguars by throwing color at them!  (Sounds reasonable, right?  haha!)

This year registration is being done slightly different.
First... the form... now you only need to put your child's name on the form (if you have more than one child at BFCS- Gilbert, you only need to write one child's name) as well as your child's teacher.  Write down the number of participating runners in your group as well as the number of color packets you are pre-ordering.  Write in the quantity of the shirt sizes you are ordering.  Shirts will be delivered to your child in his/her classroom the week of Color Run (just in time for the WHITE OUT on Friday!)
Participating runners are $2 (cost is used to cover the additional insurance FPAC needs to hold this event), color packets are $1 each, and shirts start at $5 (please see form for shirt cost for specific sizes).  Forms with payment can be sent to the school and given to the office or turn it in to your child's teacher.

Color Run Registration Form

Second... for those who would like to pay by credit card you can now go to the FPAC- Gilbert Online Store!!!  To get to the online store, click the link in the previous sentence or when you are at the blog, the link to the online store is on the right side of the screen.  When you get to the online store, scroll down past the donation and shirts.  Click on the Color Run picture.  When the Color Run section opens, click the drop down and choose what you are wanting.  You can register, order color packets and shirts in the same transaction... AND there is NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE to you!  YAY!  When paying online, please make sure to add your child's name and teacher in the comments section.

You can sign up for the Color Run at the event.  Shirts and color packets will be available for purchase at the event while supplies last.  By registering for the Color Run, you and your party agree to the terms and conditions in the Waiver and Release of Liability.

FPAC Board!

The time has come... to form next year's FPAC Board!

BUT... there's been an update!

The Board has voted to change the bylaws... no longer do you have to be elected onto the Board!!!  AND general Board members are no longer locked into 2-year terms... it's year to year!  AND now the general Board can be more than 12 members (but 12 is always the minimum)!!!

Why this change?  A couple of reasons... the bylaws were created over 20 years ago.  Society has changed... family life has changed... we needed to update the bylaws to keep up with the changes that have already come our way.
Also, this will also allow the Board more members.  We love our parents, and we know that parents want to help when they can.  If we have more than 12 people who want to better our children's school, why would we want to turn anyone away?  Why do we want to stress a new parent who wants to help but doesn't know how to get people to vote for them?

So with these new changes, we'd love to see new faces!

If you are interested in being on the Board next year, please contact Linda Wheeler (pres) or Sherron Stone (VP) at fpacgilbert@gmail.com to start what will surely be a fantastic year on next year's Board!
